Note: Inpainting is currently in BETA and remains a work in progress. We are actively improving the feature and will continue to release updates and enhancements over time.
Inpainting allows you to edit a specific part of an existing Image without generating the entire Image again.
You can use it to refine details, correct imperfections, or create a variation of a selected area while keeping the rest of the Image unchanged.
Ways to Access Inpainting
There are two ways to open the Inpainting editor:
- From an Image on your Profile or the Feed
- Immediately after generating an Image
Access Inpainting from Your Profile or the Feed
Select an Image
Open your Profile and go to Creations, or select an Image from the Feed.
Open the Image you want to edit.
Open the Editor
Select Edit Image.
The selected Image will open in the Inpainting editor.
Access Inpainting After Generating an Image
After generating an Image, select Edit Image beneath the result.
You can also open the History tab, select a previous generation, and then select Edit Image.
How to Edit an Image with Inpainting
Mask the Area You Want to Change
Use the Brush tool to cover the part of the Image you want to edit.
The highlighted mask shows which area will be regenerated.
Only mask the area you want the editor to change.
Adjust the Brush Size
Use the Brush Size control to make the mask smaller or larger.
Use a smaller Brush Size for precise details and a larger Brush Size when editing a wider area.
Enter Your Prompt
Open the Advanced section and enter a Prompt describing what should appear inside the masked area.
Keep the Prompt focused on the specific change you want to make.
Generate the Edited Image
Review the mask and Prompt, then select Generate.
The platform will regenerate the masked area based on your Prompt while keeping the remaining parts of the Image.
Tips for Better Results
- Mask only the area you want to change.
- Use a smaller Brush Size around detailed edges.
- Make sure the entire area you want replaced is covered by the mask.
- Keep the Prompt clear and focused on the intended edit.
- Avoid including unrelated scene or Character details in the Prompt.
- Try the edit again with a more precise mask or Prompt if the result does not match what you expected.
Need Help?
If Inpainting does not apply the requested change, try adjusting the mask and simplifying the Prompt.
If the issue continues, contact Support and include:
- The original Creation link
- The Prompt used for the edit
- A short description of the intended change
- A screenshot of the mask before generating
Providing these details helps Support review the edit and identify what may have caused the issue.
